888poker ambassador Chris Moorman Wins 888poker LIVE London £2,200 High Roller
As Day 1a of the 2019 888poker LIVE Festival London £1,100 Main Event kicked off at the Aspers Casino in Westfield Stratford London, the £2,200 High Roller played down to a winner alongside it. 888poker ambassadors Martin Jacobson, Ana Marquez, and Chris Moorman were among the Day 1 survivors and Moorman was the only one to cash. Among others, 2019 WSOP Main Event finalist Nick Marchington, Ivan Deyra and Christopher Yong bowed out before the money.
Jose Planells ended up as the bubble-boy in a field of 39 entries and the top six spots were guaranteed a portion of the £77,220 prize pool. Fellow Spaniard Raul Martinez had to settle for the min-cash and Antoine Saout, as well as Nicholas Lee, headed to the payout desk next.
Benjamin Winsor pulled into a 2-1 lead in heads-up but Moorman doubled once to claim the lead. Ultimately, Winsor was down to around seven big blinds when he jammed with ace-trey suited and Moorman looked him up with ace-nine. The kicker played on a ten-high board and Moorman posed for the winner shots shortly after.
With the victory, Moorman is closing in on $6 million in lifetime live winnings (according to The Hendon Mob), on top of his countless online accolades under his handle 'Moorman1'.

888poker LIVE London £1,100 Main Event Day 1a
Day 1a of the 2019 888poker LIVE Festival London £1,100 Main Event has wrapped up and out of a field of 58 entries including six re-entries, 13 players made it through the 11 levels of 40 minutes each at the Aspers Casino in Westfield Stratford London.
Kfir Ivgi is the dominating chip leader and he was among those to fire a second entry as his first attempt ended within 15 minutes and he steamrolled through the tables after to turn his 30,000 into an impressive 419,000. A trio of players ended up over 200k including Iaron Lightbourne (256,000), Gary Miller (231,500) and Lukas Gloor (221,500).
What follows is a big gap as Neil van der Merwe finished the first of five starting days fifth in chips with 92,000. Other notables that advanced to Day 2 already were Irena Macesovic (85,500), Alexander Zeligman (80,000), 888poker ambassador Martin Jacobson (60,000), and Manh The Nguyen (54,500).

---|---|---|---|

2 | Iaron Lightbourne | United Kingdom | 256,000 |

Miller and Lightbourne spent the late stages of Day 1a on Ivgi's table and both were almost dying in laughter from the incredible table action and banter of Ivgi as he made his way to the top of the leader board.
“This table should be on TV, they still wouldn't believe it,” Miller exclaimed in the final level of the night and wished to have the same line-up for the stream table on Day 2. Whether or not that wish comes true remains to be seen as players from another four flights will advance in the next two days.
Among those to bust on Day 1a were Dillan Patel, Keith Hoang, Matthew Eardley, Ion Mican, Francois Pirault, Leon Louis and Ramlal Basdeo to name just a few. The 2017 champion Tom Hall as well as last year's runner-up Derek Lawless also took a shot at the action but ran out of chips early on.
The Main Event will continue with Day 1b as of 1 p.m. local time followed by Day 1c at 6 p.m. local time. Both flights play 11 levels of 40 minutes each and the PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the action from the tables.

With 2018 firmly in the rearview mirror, poker tours are releasing schedules for the new year. 888Live is among them, recently announcing live stops to include London, Barcelona, Malta, and Vienna as well as confirming a return to sponsoring the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
There will be five major stops in total, kicking off with the 888Poker LIVE London Kick Off event at Aspers Casino in February. The tour will then head to Barcelona at the end of May, stop in Vienna and Malta in October, and then head back to London to end the year.
Along with the 2019 schedule, 888 has announced it will once again be the exclusive partner of the WSOP for the fifth year running. For years, 888 has sent hundreds of qualifiers to participate in the Main Event and this year will be no different. All the winners of an 888Live main event also receive WSOP Main Event packages.
For the 2019 live tour, 888 is bringing back the popular Big Blind Ante and the Shot Clock format, both of which have fast become the norm across the poker landscape. Though full schedule details are yet to be announced, it appears that 888Live will offer buy-ins on the more modest end of the spectrum.
888Live 2019 Schedule Details
Aiming to make 2019 their biggest year yet, 888 has suggested the possibility of adding more stops to the schedule. So far, players can mark their calendars for the five festivals that are slated.
The first stop is Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford in London from Feb. 7-10, which will feature a Main Event with a £440 buy-in and £120,000 prize pool guarantee. They have high hopes for this stop considering their LIVE London Main Event in December tallied 656 entries for a prize pool of just under £650,000.
From May 22 to June 3, 888poker LIVE Barcelona will take place at Casino Barcelona. The last time this event was held, the €1,100 Main Event attracted 709 entries for a prize pool of €709,000 and the LIVE Barcelona festival has boasted as many as 20 events.
After a break during the summer season, 888 LIVE heads to Montesino Casino in Vienna, Austria for the first time in two years. The €888 buy-in Main Event in Vienna will offer a €300,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The Battle of Malta will follow the Vienna stop in October, with expectations high after last year’s €550 buy-in Main Event became the biggest live tournament in the country, drawing 3,816 entries to generate a prize pool of €1.85 million.
The tour is scheduled to wrap up back at Aspers Casino in November.
