During 1944-1958, Dinah Washington recorded jazz, blues, R&B, pop, and even gospel, excelling in each area. In 1959 after she had a major pop hit in 'What a Difference a Day Makes,' the quality of her recordings declined as she was mostly backed by large anonymous studio orchestras in an attempt to duplicate that song's commercial success. Known as “ The Queen ” or “ Miss D, ” vocalist Dinah Washington emerged one of the most versatile cross-over artists of the post World Warera. Her gospel-trainedvoice-noted for its rhythmical precision and tonal clarity — performed blues, jazz, and ballads with equal authority.

This is the discography for American jazz musician Dinah Washington.[1][2]

Roulette Records was an American record company and label founded in 1957 by George Goldner, Joe Kolsky, Morris Levy and Phil Kahl, with creative control given to producers and songwriters Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore. Find Dinah Washington discography, albums and singles on AllMusic.
